The 2025 NFL Draft came and went, and the Miami Dolphins, despite drafting former Florida Gators cornerback Jason Marshall Jr., are still relatively lacking in the defensive secondary.
So, where else would the Dolphins turn than a former West Virginia Mountaineer who has been idling in free agency for a handful of months now?
Rasul Douglas, who played just two seasons for the Mountaineers before heading to the 2017 NFL Draft, has played nine seasons in the league and is still producing star-level stats at the next level. In fact, the former first-team All-Big 12 player even won a ring seven years ago with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.
Miami has reportedly been in contact with Douglas, and the franchise has a vested interest in signing the former WVU star, further beefing up their defensive back room.
Douglas isn't alone in the Dolphins' search, though. Miami has also reached out to James Bradberry, Mike Hilton, Stephon Gilmore, and Shaquill Griffin – all of whom are currently in the UFA.
Per source, Dolphins have been in contact with/showing interest in veteran CB Rasul Douglas, who started 15 games for Buffalo last year and has 19 career INTs. There has been Fins contact with other CBs, too. Douglas, Bradberry, Hilton, Gilmore, Shaq Griffin among best UFA CBs.

Were any West Virginia Mountaineers selected in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Wyatt Milum, former WVU offensive tackle, was the only Mountaineer selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Milum was picked 89th overall, during the third round, by the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, a handful of former Mountaineers were signed out of free agency following the conclusion of the Draft:
Long snapper Austin Brinkman signed with the Houston Texans, quarterback-turned-wide receiver Garrett Greene signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defensive back Garnett Hollis Jr. signed with the Tennessee Titans, defensive lineman TJ Jackson II signed with the Seattle Seahawks, defensive lineman Fatorma Mulbah signed with the New York Jets, and tight end Kole Taylor signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
