It was made official on Tuesday that Rich Rodriguez will retain WVU offensive assistant Chad Scott on his staff. Scott will serve as the Running Backs Coach for the Mountaineers, the same role he held on former coach Neal Brown's staff.
"I have an appreciation and respect for the job that Chad has done here at West Virginia," Rodriguez said. "He brings a high level of energy and has a history of building relationships and developing players. I look forward to having him as a member of our staff."
Scott has spent the past six seasons at West Virginia, joining Brown's staff in 2019. Over the past two seasons, Scott has coached the skill players in a rushing attack that finished Top 10 amongst power conference schools in back-to-back years, averaging 210 rushing yards over that time period. He also served as Interim Head Coach for the Mountaineers during the Scooter's Frisco Bowl earlier this month.
Scott developed numerous running backs for WVU, including recent Ohio State transfer CJ Donaldson Jr. and current WVU standout Jahiem White, who called Scott returning his "Christmas wish."
