Former WVU quarterback Clint Trickett has just landed his biggest coaching opportunity yet.
The former Mountaineers standout spent last season as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, helping lead Jacksonville State to a 9-5 record and bowl win with a high-octane offense that was in part powered by current WVU players Cam Cook, Cameron Griffin, and Amare Grayson.
After the season ended, he was offered the role of quarterbacks coach by the Arkansas Razorbacks, but his success at Jacksonville State drew the interest of the Maryland Terrapins for their open offensive coordinator role, and Trickett has now officially been hired to join Maryland's staff.
Welcome to Terpsville, Coach @CJTrickett9!

Clint Trickett hired by Maryland Terrapins as offensive coordinator
The reports of the move to the Terrapins began on Tuesday, and by Wednesday morning the move was made official by the program. Trickett will bring 11 years of collegiate coaching experience of Maryland's staff including stints as an offensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic in 2020 and at Marshall from 2022-2023. emi
As a quarterback with the Mountaineers from 2013-2014, Trickett passed for 4,890 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. He retired after serving as the starter during the team's 7-6 campaign in 2014 due to suffering multiple concussions over the course of a year.
Trickett also has two family members currently on staff at WVU. His dad Rick Trickett, who coached with him last season as the offensive line coach at Jacksonville State, recently returned to WVU in the same role for his second stint with the Mountaineers and third stint under head coach Rich Rodriguez. Clint's brother, Travis Tickett, also currently serves on WVU's staff as a senior offensive assistant.
