Former UTSA edge rusher and 2024 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Defensive Player of the Year Jimmori Robinson officially announced on Saturday evening he has committed to West Virginia. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
Robinson will add another strong veteran presence as a 7th-year player -- he is another benefactor of the additional year of eligibility granted to former JUCO athletes following the Diego Pavia court ruling this off-season.
Robinson spent 2019-2020 at the JUCO level before joining UTSA in 2021 -- he was named a JUCO All-American in 2019. He transferred to UTSA in 2021, where he spent the past four seasons. In 2024, Robinson earned conference player of the year honors as he started 12 and appeared in all 13 games for the Roadrunners, tallying 43 tackles (17 TFL), 10.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 pass breakups. Over his career at UTSA, he appeared in 43 games -- starting 13 -- and tallied 110 tackles (30 TFL), 15 sacks, 6 pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles.
The Mountaineers won the commitment from Robinson over a bitter regional rival in Virginia Tech.
