The West Virginia Mountaineers are moving on in the winner's bracket of the Morgantown Regional in the NCAA Tournament, and they have a familiar foe waiting for them on Saturday.
The Mountaineers knocked off the Binghamton Bearcats in a 10-1 victory on FRiday in the opening round of regional play, behind a massive effort at the plate from postseason wonder boy Ben Lumsden and a strong pitching performance. On the other side of the bracket, No. 3 seed Kentucky earned the win over No. 2 seed Wake Forest, setting up a showdown between the Wildcats and Mountaineers.
This marks the fourth time West Virginia and Kentucky will clash in the NCAA Regionals in the past four years – the Wildcats defeated the Mountaineers in the Lexington Regional in 2023, while WVU was able to secure two wins over Kentucky last year to advance to their second straight Super Regional. Here's how to follow along with WVU baseball as they play the Wildcats on Saturday.
