Defense was smarter

Yes, the defense wasn’t perfect (hence the score), but they did decrease their fouls quite a bit from the last few games.

last Saturday, WVU had a total of 13 fouls, which is down tremendously since the last time WVU saw the Red Raiders by over 50 percent. In the who teams’ last meeting, the Mountaineers piled up 30 total fouls.

Since then, the fouls have gone down; 21 from their last game (January 31st against Baylor) and 29 from the game before that (January 29th against Arkansas), so the Mountaineers have been giving out less free points.

Texas Tech was hitting most of their free throws (12-14 or 86%), so if WVU gave TTU more opportunities, the final score could have looked much worse.
