Debate: should Bob Huggins be in the Hall of Fame?
Huggins’ time in Cincinnati
In Huggins’ first two seasons with Cincinnati, the Bearcats finished their season above .500 in the second round of the NIT tournament. In his third season, everything began to change.
In 1992 Cincinnati won their conference and made it to the Final Four in the first of many excellent seasons under Huggins. The years that followed would all prove to be similar in outcome.
During Huggins’ 16-year span as head coach, the Bearcats would win numerous conference titles and other season accolades.
The Bearcats would appear in the Final Four once, the Elite Eight twice, the Sweet Sixteen once, and failed to miss the NCAA tournament during the final 14 seasons of Huggins’ time in Cincinnati.
Bob Huggins would then head to Kansas State in 2006-07, where he would serve as head coach for one season before moving on to coach at his alma mater, West Virginia University.
