2009, 93-72 WVU

The WVU basketball team beat Villanova, 93-72, on Feb. 13, 2009. The Mountaineers came into the game unranked and the Wildcats were the No. 13 team in the country.

West Virginia pulled off the upset win and fans stormed the court. Obviously, it wasn’t as big as when the Mountaineers have knocked off top-ranked Big 12 teams at the WVU Coliseum, but it was a nice moment.

In the game, Da’Sean Butler put up an astounding 43 points and totally outplayed Villanova’s star guard, Scottie Reynolds. He only had 12 points. Also for the Mountaineers, Devin Ebanks had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
