WVU basketball: Top 3 players who helped Sweet 16 run
Lamont West
Like Esa Ahmad, Lamont West has been a curious case for the WVU basketball. Much of his success this year has gone unnoticed, but as a regular starter all season, he really has put in the work to make himself and the team better all around.
He may have games like he did against Murray State, where he only appeared for seven minutes but did not record a points. Or, he’ll dominate like he did against Marshall with 18 points and 10 rebounds. West needs to take disciplined shots and they’ll go in, like they did against the Thundering Herd when he was 6 of 10 from the field.
Other players like Teddy Allen, who scored 16 points against Murray State, and Daxter Miles, who has been the most steady player outside of Carter, could have easily made this list. However, the true depth of the WVU basketball team can make any player a star on any given night.
