Derrek Pitts

The state of West Virginia has been historically low on high school talent, but with Derrek Pitts the tide started to turn. The South Charleston native originally committed to Penn State but decided to stay home.

That move is paying off for Pitts and the Mountaineers and his next move should pay off as well. Pitts is moving to cornerback in spring practice and for the upcoming season. Last year, Pitts played at safety and played in seven games.

Pitts had a total of seven tackles. This offseason he ran into a bit of trouble in his hometown for having a hand gun on high school property.
