The WVU basketball team welcomes Baylor to town as the Mountaineers look to defend a recent No. 2 ranking in the national polls.

It’s safe to say West Virginia now has a target on its back after handing a pretty good beating to Oklahoma on Saturday. The national media is starting to take greater notice of the WVU basketball team and more people are jumping on the bandwagon.

The Bears will look to stop that momentum in an attempt to gain some of their own. Baylor is 11-4 on the year and just beat Texas. The win against the Longhorns snapped a two-game losing streak to open Big 12 play as the Bears fell to Texas Tech and TCU.

Just like the Mountaineers, Baylor has some solid athletes and players with good basketball sense. This won’t be an easy outing for the WVU basketball team. Even playing in front of a sold out crowd at the WVU Coliseum won’t deter the Bears.

For the Mountaineers to pick up their 15th win, they’ll have to do what they do best and ramp up the defense. Stopping these three Baylor players will be the key to victory.
