Two college basketball heavyweights will enter the ring Saturday night at the WVU Coliseum as the WVU basketball team hosts Oklahoma in one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.

West Virginia and the Sooners both have one loss and sit unbeaten in conference play. In a year that doesn’t seem to be dominated by Kansas, one of these two teams has a great shot to win the Big 12 title.

Whichever team wins on Saturday has an early inside track to become the best team in the conference. The Mountaineers and Sooners can both lay claim to being some of the best in the nation, though the proving ground runs through Morgantown.

Even though the WVU basketball team is ranked higher than OU, the Sooners have received much more hype from the national media. That’s because the Sooners have some solid headlining players, where the Mountaineers have become more spread out in their attack.

If this balanced WVU basketball squad wants to upend the visiting Sooners, it needs to look at the progression of the following three stars.
