One of the most talked about players in college football this season has been Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield. He is statistically the best QB in the game, but he also carries some extra baggage with him. His actions against Kansas last week have forced head coach Lincoln Riley to suspend him for a brief part of the first quarter against West Virginia.
Mayfield will likely only miss a possession or two, but that leaves the door open for the Mountaineers to get an early score. When he comes in the game, it won’t be easy to stop him because of his great numbers this season.
Mayfield has completed 233 of 329 passes this season, which is a 70 percent completion rate. He has totaled 3,816 yards and 34 touchdown passes with only five interceptions.
