Trent Tanking

The centerpiece of the defense, Trent Tanking has been building himself for this season. A senior, he is 6-foot-2, 225 pounds. He is a true success story in this program because he came in as a walk-on. He saw most of his time on special teams and was the team’s leading tackler on special teams last season.

This season, Tanking has 75 tackles to lead the Wildcats. Against TCU, he made 13 stops and in games against Vanderbilt, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State he made double-digit stops.

As the West Virginia offense looks to be more balanced, Tanking has the ability to stop the run and halt the pass.
