4 top games between WVU football and Kansas State
2015, 24-23 WVU loss
The 2015 edition was the last time the WVU football team played the Wildcats on the road. The good news for the Mountaineers was that Wendell Smallwood had a great game which served as a nice audition to him getting drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Smallwood ran for 141 yards and a touchdown.
The rest of the offense had trouble finding the end zone, though, as Josh Lambert had to settle for three field goals. Had those turned into touchdowns, the Mountaineers would have easily won this game.
Skyler Howard did not throw an interception and the defense was great, limiting the Wildcats to 200 passing yards and under 100 rushing yards. Special teams cost the game in the end with Morgan Burns going 97 yards for a kick return score which was the deciding touchdown.
