Joel Lanning

Joel Lanning is a bit of a folk hero for the Iowa State football team. He does it all and has seen it all. He started his career as a dual threat quarterback for the Cyclones. Now, he runs the ball a bit and stands out on defense.

Lanning leads the team with 87 tackles on the year. He had 20 against Texas and most recently made nine in the win against TCU. He has had double-digit tackles against Texas, as well as Iowa (11), Kansas (10) and Texas Tech (14).

Lanning has a total of 77 rushing yards on the season and had a long run of 13 against Kansas. Against Oklahoma, he was 2 of 3 passing for 25 yards.
