2016, 49-19 WVU win

Last year, the 30-point victory was the largest margin for the Mountaineers against Iowa State. The WVU football team scored early and often in the final road game of the regular season.

West Virginia was No. 19 coming into the game, which is actually the only match up where one team has been ranked in this series. The Mountaineers proved they were the better team by limiting the Cyclones to just a field goal in the second half.

Martell Pettaway had a huge game running the ball as he finished with 181 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries. Skyler Howard was 12 of 21 passing for 330 yards and five touchdowns. That’s the kind of offensive production needed from Will Grier and Justin Crawford this time around.
