The WVU football team and Iowa State are comparable in many ways. Both are fighting for the same things this season.

Iowa State has been down for the better part of West Virginia’s tenure in the Big 12 Conference. This year, however, the Cyclones come into Milan Puskar Stadium ranked No. 15 in the country having just beaten TCU.

The Cyclones also knocked off Oklahoma on the road earlier this season. It has been a year to remember for ISU and there is still a lot of time left for more memories to play out on the field.

The past five match ups have been the first five in the series between the WVU football team and Iowa State. The Mountaineers own a 4-1 advantage, however, Jack Trice Stadium has attracted more fans than Milan Puskar Stadium.

This Saturday will be the third time the WVU football played ISU at home. In 2013, the first time ISU came to Morgantown, only 33,735 fans came to the game, according to WVUstats.com. In 2015, only 42,446 fans were in attendance, well below the average home crowd for the Mountaineers.

All three times the WVU football team has played at Iowa State, more than 50,000 fans were in attendance. Milan Puskar Stadium needs to be as packed as it was last week for Oklahoma State. The crowd was really loud at some pivotal points.

The game should be great this weekend, and hopefully will result in a win for the WVU football team. Here is a look at the four other wins by the Mountaineers in this series.
