1928, 32-6 WVU win
In the inaugural meeting between the Cowboys and Mountaineers, 12,500 fans showed up at Old Mountaineer Field. In a time when West Virginia was playing smaller, regionally-based schools. So, it was odd for a team from Oklahoma to come up east.
This win, helped propel the Mountaineers to an 8-2 record in 1928 and the victory was the seventh in a row during the middle of the season.
For the Mountaineers, Clarence Keefer rushed for 159 yards.
