2012, 70-63 WVU win
In the WVU football team’s first game in the Big 12 Conference, the sky was the limit. The Mountaineers pulled out a thrilling back-and-forth victory that really went along the same lines of the conference being an offense-first league.
The Mountaineers entered the game as the No. 9 team in the nation and were on a roll. In the win, Geno Smith drew widespread attention by completing 45 of 51 passes for 656 yards. Baylor quarterback Nick Florence was equally impressive with 581 passing yards.
The Bears scored the first and last touchdowns of the game, but the West Virginia defense held on as tight as it could to preserve the victory.
