2014, 37-34 WVU win
In 2014, the WVU football team had a mediocre season, finishing with seven wins and a bowl loss to Texas A&M. The Mountaineers did have hope, though, after a thrilling win on the road at Texas Tech.
As time expired, Josh Lambert drilled a 55-yard field goal to lift West Virginia to victory. Lambert had several other great moments like this, even though his career fizzled out and he never received a true send off.
Also in the game, Wendell Smallwood and Rushel Shell came through again. The running back duo combined for 233 yards and Shell found the end zone twice.
