2013, 30-27 WVU win

This match up in 2013 was the second between TCU and the WVU football team as both teams were now members of the Big 12 Conference. This was the Mountaineers only road victory of the season as they went a dismal 4-8.

The victory may have been a surprise to some, as TCU also finished with a record of 4-8 that year. In the victory, West Virginia sealed it with a 34-yard field goal by Texas native Josh Lambert in overtime. It was a high mark for an otherwise rough season.

Lambert’s field goal answered a 45-yard shot by the TCU kicker with only 19 seconds remaining in regulation which tied it.

Clint Trickett and Charles Simms led the way offensively for the Mountaineers. Trickett was 25 of 41 passing for 267 yards and Simms carried 24 times for 154 yards.
