Joe DiNeen

Joe DiNeen is probably the best overall player on the Kansas football team. He might just be one of the best overall players in the Big 12. DiNeen leads the conference in tackles with 38 on the year.

DiNeen has recorded double digit stops in all three games this season. He has yet to record a sack at linebacker but does have seven tackles for a loss that have resulted in opponents losing 16 yards.

As Holgorsen mentioned in his press conference, DiNeen missed last season with an injury, so he is coming out in a force this season. At 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, he is already a force to be reckoned with on the field. DiNeen is also a local boy, hailing from Lawrence.

His younger brother, Jay, is also a linebacker on the Jayhawks football team. He has yet to appear in a game this season. The DiNeen family is full of Kansas athletes as their mother was a volleyball standout and their great-grandfather played basketball.
