Jordan Williams is the best defensive player for the Pirates. He showed that was the case against James Madison as he led ECU with 14 tackles, six more than the next listed player. Williams is fast for his size and strong enough to not allow any ballcarriers to break his tackles.
Williams has played in every game in each of the last two years for East Carolina. He is experienced and knows what it takes to bounce back from a loss. He won’t want to experience that feeling again this week.
Williams will look to unite his defensive unit against a surging WVU defense. The Mountaineers may want to be more balanced than they were against Virginia Tech, but if that is the case, they’ll want to be very aware of Williams up the middle.
