The WVU football team has only lost to East Carolina three times in the history of this series. The Mountaineers should earn their 19th victory over the Pirates on Saturday.

Without looking past the Pirates, the WVU football team has a handful of players it must look out for. East Carolina is a Division I program which has knocked off the Mountaineers within the past 10 years.

This year’s team isn’t as strong as the 2008 squad that beat West Virginia in North Carolina, but it’s good for the Mountaineers to gameplan as strong as possible in all facets of the game.

Last week, the Pirates fell to reigning FCS champion James Madison. The Dukes topped the Pirates, 34-14. So, it’s safe to say the Pirates want to come out stronger than they did against JMU in Week 1.

If the Pirates want to pull the upset, it will take strong performances from the following five players.
