1987, 49-0 WVU win

This is the only shutout victory on the list. The Mountaineers dominated the Pirates in all facets of the game back in the late 1980s.

This game got the Mountaineers back on track after a rough start to the year. In 1987, West Virginia opened up with Ohio University and earned a 23-3 victory. But the WVU football team would lose the next three to Ohio State, Maryland and Pitt.

The fifth game of the season allowed the Mountaineers to put together a nice little winning streak of three in the middle part of the year. Although the team finished 6-6 that year, with a loss to eventual Big 12 rival Oklahoma State in the Sun Bowl, the ECU victory was a nice one.

Nine players rushed the ball, including standout Undra Johnson who had 99 yards and two touchdowns. Major Harris was solid in this one, too, completing 50 percent of his passes.
