2007, 48-7 WVU win

This was the WVU football team everybody knew and loved. The 2007, despite that awful 13-9 loss, was one of the best in program history. The Mountaineers steamrolled all but one opponent in the regular season.

The East Carolina game capped off a four-game wining streak to start the season for West Virginia. The team took care of business and never looked back after getting out to a huge lead. The Pirates’ only score came with under a minute remaining in regulation.

The cavalcade of WVU football stars came ready to play in this one with Steve Slaton rushing for more than 100 yards and Pat White completing 18 of 20 passes. Eight players rushed the ball for the Mountaineers and the team almost put up 400 yards on the ground and nearly 60 for the day.

These were the glory days for modern Mountaineer fans. Ten years later, the team should be able to win like this against the Pirates.
