4 best games between WVU football and Virginia Tech
2003, 28-7 WVU win
This game topped the memories from the 2002 game. It was another upset and it truly put the Mountaineers on the map. The WVU football team was inc charge from the very start in this one. Nobody really saw it coming as the Hokies were ranked No. 3 and, again, the Mountaineers were out of the rankings.
Quincy Wilson again came through with an early touchdown run and so did his new partner in the backfield, Kay-Jay Harris. WVU had an early 14-0 lead and the icing on the cake came when Rasheed Marshall hit Travis Garvin for a 93-yard touchdown.
It has been billed as one of the loudest games in Milan Puskar Stadium history. The Mountaineer fans rushed the field after the game, which helped launch Mountaineer Nation to the upper echelon of the most loyal and crazy fanbases in the country.
