Maryland vs. Texas

Deep in the heart of Texas there is a sense of urgency. Under former head coach Charlie Strong, the Longhorns were unable to find their way back into the national spotlight in a positive way.

Now, there is a lot of positivity with the program as Tom Herman takes over one of the most stories programs in the country.

It won’t be an easy road for Herman, but a win at home against a quality foe like the Big Ten’s Maryland Terrapins will keep the people in Austin happy. The Dallas News says the Longhorns should handle Maryland with relative ease.

Last year, Maryland went 6-7 and 3-6 in conference to finish fifth in the Big 10 East. Texas went 5-7 and 3-6 to finish sixth in the Big 12.

Prediction: Texas 28, Maryland 24.
