Steven Peoples

Steven Peoples played in every game last season for Virginia Tech. He didn’t put up eye-popping numbers by any means. But he was in on the action building for his chance to start in 2017.

Peoples will be the No. 1 running back for the Hokies as they open up against the Mountaineers. The WVU defense will have to key on him to shut down the run. As the Mountaineers sport a young linebacker and defensive line unit, Peoples will be looking to run wild.

Last year, he had just 16 carries for 60 yards and one touchdown. He also caught two passes for 40 yards and one touchdown.

He will see a much bigger role in the offense this season. The Mountaineers will serve as a de facto guinea pig as the diminutive 5-foot-9, 220-pounder gets all the reps on the first team.
