Wide Receivers

Daikiel Shorts is gone. Shelton Gibson left early running down a dream. Luckily, Holgorsen finds wide receivers like the wild hair he grows on his head.

Ka’Raun White (No. 2) is primed for a breakout year along with Jovon Durante (No. 5), but expect Gary Jennings (No. 12) and David Sills V (No. 13) to make an impact in the slot. Sills V returned to Morgantown after transferring out two years ago, and this will be Jennings third year with the Mountaineers.

Marcus Simms (No. 8) and Steven Smothers (No. 9) are hot names to watch too, but keep an eye on JuCo transfer Dominique Maiden (No. 80). With some finger tape and big-time catches, Maiden could look like Plaxico Burress from the Pittburgh Steelers in that No. 80 and 6’5″ frame.

Could Monroeville product Ricky Rogers (No. 85) breakout and make an impact this year? Maybe 6’2″ freshman Jamicah Hopkins (No. 82)?
