WVU Football: Annual Gold-Blue Spring Game Saturday

How many Mountaineer fans aren’t excited for what Will Grier (No. 7) could bring to the offense? He threw for 1,204 yards and 10 touchdowns as a true freshman at Florida and looks to replace two-year starter Skyler Howard after his departure.
Howard was capable of getting out of the pocket and hurting defenses with his legs, piling up north of 1,000 yards and scoring 16 times on the ground. Grier is more of a pocket passer, but can make every throw, accoring to new Mountaineer offensive coordinator Jave Spavital.
"“Will has a very clean release and he has a strong arm. The kid can make all of the throws necessary at any level, in the NFL or college football. He is a very polished passer.”"
Having only three QBs on the roster after William Crest transferred from the program, Chris Chugonov (No. 11) and Cody Saunders (No. 10) will most likely be competing for the back-up job. Both are underclassmen, but have been and are familiar with the program.
