The No. 2 ranked TCU Horned Frogs are riding a 13-game winning streak into Morgantown this weekend for their series with the WVU bsseball team.

TCU (27-5, 8-1 Big 12) will look to extend its two-game lead in the Big 12 standings over second place WVU (19-12, 6-3) in this weekend’s three-game series..

Friday night, BJ Myers (3-2, 3.57 ERA) will get the start for the Mountaineers and will face off against Jared Janczak (6-0, 1.79 ERA). On Saturday, Wheeling, WV native Michael Grove (3-1, 2.72 ERA) will start opposite of TCU’s Nick Lodolo (3-1, 4.93 ERA).

Myers has led the team in starts (eight) and innings pitched (53.0) this year. His last start was good for his first complete game of the season, a 10-1 blowout win against Kansas.

Grove is also coming off his most impressive start of the season in an 8-0 victory against Kansas. He took a perfect game into the 8th inning, but gave up a single with two outs. He finished the day with 8 shutout innings, 1 hit, 12 strikeouts and no walks.

Sophomore infielder Cole Austin has posted a .346/.388/.528 line this season. His batting average is good for the highest on the team. Also, freshman outfielder Brandon White has been a great addition for the Mountaineers this season, posting a .333 BA in 25 starts.

WVU will arguably be facing the best team on their schedule this weekend. The Mountaineers did take two games from defending national champion Coastal Carolina to open the season, but the Horned Frogs are on another level.

TCU made it to the College World Series last season, their third straight appearance in the tournament. The Horned Frogs will have more than a decent shot to make it back for a fourth.

Sophomore Luken Baker, a reigning NCBWA First Team Freshman All-American, will also be a force at the plate for the Horned Frogs. He is currently tied for second in the Big 12 in home runs (seven) with WVU’s Jackson Cramer and OSU’s Garret Benge.

First pitch times for the weekend are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
