West Virginia’s Rasul Douglas accepted an invite on Tuesday to play in the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Douglas picked off eight passes this season for the Mountaineers, tied for the nation’s lead, and was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. His resume is about as good as one can have in the Big 12, the heaviest passing league in college football. The kid is a physical corner that has a nose for finding the football; if it’s in the air, 13 is going to make it his.

After the Russell Athletic Bowl, Mountaineer fans will get to root for him one last time in the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl. A number of players that have been chosen for this game have gone on to have excellent NFL careers, including Jimmy Graham, Richard Sherman, Aaron Donald and many more. Douglas is a grinder, and has all the talent in the world to follow the path of those who’ve come before him. He’ll join teammate Tyler Orlosky for the Jan. 28 contest in Mobile, Ala.
