WVU football has played in Arizona four times

The West Virginia football team will be making its fifth trip to Arizona with this week’s Cactus Bowl against Arizona State.

The Mountaineers have made the trip out west four previous times and, like this journey, most have been for bowl games.

WVU faced off against Arizona State just once before this upcoming match up, and that came in the only non-bowl game played in the Copper State.

The three other games the Mountaineers have played in Arizona have been bowl games.
