No. 12 Canute Curtis

In 1996, West Virginia had the nation’s top-ranked defense thanks to Canute Curtis.

He had 16.5 sacks and 11 more tackles for a loss that year. He finished his career with 35.5 sacks and was a finalist for the Dick Butkus Award.

Curtis was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals and played six seasons in the NFL.
