It’s not a coincidence that the West Virginia football program is No. 14 on the all-time college football wins list

The Mountaineers have had some great players get them there.

WVU has played for national championships, won BCS bowl games and earned many conference championships along the way.

Some West Virginia players remain household names in the Mountain State. Most of these guys (like Pat White, Steve Slaton, Major Harris and Avon Cobourne) didn’t pan out in the NFL. Others (like James Jett, Sam Huff, Daryl Talley and Jeff Hostetler) went on to thrive in the professional ranks.

Some WVU products (like Geno Smith, Pat McAfee, Bruce Irvin and Kevin White) are rising starts in the NFL and could become legends at the next level.

All of these players are immortals at WVU. This list of the 50 greatest WVU football players of all-time will show you why.
