Game 23: 2006 vs. Rutgers

In the metaphoric rise of Rutgers football in the mid-2000s, the Mountaineers and Scarlet Knights were part of a classic Morgantown night game on Dec. 2, 2006.

No. 15 WVU outlasted No. 13 Rutgers, 41-39, in triple overtime. Without the services of Pat White, freshman quarterback Jarrett Brown blasted onto the scene with 244 passing yards, completing 14 of 29 passes. All the while, Brown rushed for 73 yards, with a long of 40, on 17 carries and Steve Slaton led the way with 112 yards, with a long of 44.

In the final OT period, Vaughn Rivers knocked down a pass intended for future NFL player Ray Rice to secure the win.
