Game 7: 1982 vs. Oklahoma

The sun was beating down and the heat was turned up on Sept. 11, 1982 as the Mountaineers traveled to Norman, Okla. to take on the Sooners for the third time in program history.

Jeff Hostetler passed for 321 yards as unranked West Virginia upset No. 9 Oklahoma, 41-27.

The Sooners still pounded the ball on the ground to the tune of 319 yards, but the Mountaineer defense led by 15 tackles from Dennis Fowlkes proved necessary.
