Game 8: 2012 vs. Clemson

It’s not only out speed limit, it’s our final score. The Mountaineers put up 70, count them, 70 points against Clemson in the Organge Bowl. Like other recent BCS bowl games, WVU was counted out even before the game started. Many national commentators said the Tigers would win in a landslide.

The Mountaineers proved them wrong again.

West Virginia won, 70-33, as Geno Smith passed for 407 yards and six touchdowns. Four scores were thanks to the speed and agility of Tavon Austin. He had 12 receptions for 123 yards.

The defense swarmed Clemson, too, scoring 21 points off turnovers.
