Guard Wil Robinson
Wil Robinson was a third-team All-American at West Virginia in 1972 and that same year he was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the fourth round.
Earning the nod to the professional ranks started when Robinson was at WVU. Robinson is one of 49 players in program history to be in the 1,000-point club. Robinson is fourth all-time with 1,850 points.
He is the all-time season scoring leader in average points with 29.4 in 24 games in the 1972 season. That season, he scored 702 points, which is fifth all-time for points in a single season. In getting those shots to fall, Robinson was extremely efficient as he attempted 579 shots in 1972.
Robinson’s 45-point performance against Penn State in 1971 is the highest scoring output by a Mountaineer at the WVU Coliseum.
