Forward Lester Rowe
All the Mountaineers did was win during Lester Rowe’s playing days. From 1982-1985, Rowe helped WVU win 90 games and three Atlantic 10 Conference championships.
His 1,524 career points ranks 17th all-time in school history and his 787 rebounds rank 13th in school history.
He was the A-10 tournament Most Valuable Player in 1984. Rowe played overseas for a few seasons in the late 1980s.
Rowe continues to share his basketball expertise in West Virginia. For a time, he ran a successful high school AAU program and he is currently an assistant coach with the Mountaineer women’s basketball team, a program which consistently is ranked in the Top 25.
