No. 7 – Chad Johnston

Chad Johnston played for the Mountaineers in the lat 1990s when defense was the name of the game in Morgantown. And although his career ended in a Gator Bowl loss to North Carolina, headlined by four turnovers, Johnston had a noteworthy tenure under center.

Johnston is No. 5 in pass attempts (839), No. 6 in pass completions (428), No. 5 in touchdown passes (43) and compiled a 31-17 record while at WVU. That included the 11-win, undefeated regular season of 1993, though Johnson was just the back up quarterback.

He still resides in Morgantown and is employed as a dermatologist.
