No. 1 – Pat White

If rankings are judged on wins and losses, Pat White is the best West Virginia quarterback of all time. He went 40-9 as a Mountaineer and became the first college quarterback to win four bowl games (Sugar Bowl, Gator Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Meineke Car Care Bowl).

He rushed for 4,480 yards which was the most for a college quarterback and second all-time for a Mountaineer, behind Avon Cobourne. White had 684 rushing attempts, which is also the most of any WVU quarterback, and fourth in WVU history.

While he beat teams with his feet, in his final game as a Mountaineer, he had a career-best passing game with 26 completions and 332 yards in a Meineke Car Care Bowl win against North Carolina.

The Daphne, Ala. native was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. In a short professional career, White had just 81 rushing yards.
