The WVU football program has seen some great players, and here are the top 10 quarterbacks in school history.
One of the biggest criticisms of the 2015 West Virginia football team is the play of quarterback Skyler Howard. In his first full-time starting role with a Division I program, Howard has gone through growing pains, no doubt. He’s shown an ability to connect with receivers on the deep ball.
However, his inconsistency has forced the Mountaineers to adjust to a more run-first style of offense, a big difference from what head coach Dana Holgorsen is known for.
FanSided
Howard was the man Holgorsen counted on this season, like it or not. But watching Howard play, sometimes, allowed fans to conjure up memories of watching elite quarterbacks strap on the blue and gold.
This list goes back in time from the dawn of the Mountaineers to the program’s rise to national prominence. There’s been plenty of standouts, but only 10 are the best of the best at quarterback for WVU. Be sure to comment and let us know what you think. Is anyone too high or too low? Did we leave your favorite Mountaineer quarterback off the list?
