West Virginia University had gone 20 years without producing a 1st round NFL draft pick prior to Jozwiak’s selection 7th overall in 1986. One of the top tackles in Mountaineers history, Jozwiak got the opportunity to start his pro career with the Chiefs.

Jozwiak was the second tackle to come off the board in the draft and the Chiefs were more than happy to have Jozwiak come aboard to help right their struggling franchise and protect quarterback Todd Blackledge.

Jozwiak would go on to start 28 games for the Chiefs over three seasons before a nasty hip injury cut his professional football career short. Had Jozwiak not been injured, he could have been a stalwart on the Chiefs offensive line throughout the 1980s.
