Inaugural Bob Huggins Fish Fry Announced

Event sponsored by Little General Stores to benefit Remember the Miners and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center

Morgantown, WV (PRWEB) August 08, 2011

The inaugural Bob Huggins Fish Fry Presented by Little General will be held on Friday, September 2nd at the Waterfront Place Hotel. The event will feature Coach Bob Huggins, members of the 2010 Men’s Final Four, and notable Mountaineer greats, and will benefit the Norma Rae Huggins Cancer Research Fund and the Remember the Miners Scholars Program.

“The Fish Fry will be a great way to kick off the Friends of Coal Bowl weekend,” said Coach Bob Huggins. “I look forward to members of our 2010 Final Four team and Mountaineer greats from various sports returning as we celebrate West Virginia and raise money for two great causes. It will be one of the greatest events in West Virginia this year.”

Guests will enjoy a delicious fish fry while paying tribute to West Virginia’s beloved winning basketball coach. A meet and greet with the former collegiate athletes will be held during the event. Additionally, West Virginia’s own country act TaylorMade will conclude the evening with a rousing concert.

Tickets are $100 each and tables are available for purchase at $1000. All tickets include the fish fry dinner, meet and greet with Mountaineer greats, access to a memorabilia sale and silent auction, live country music with TaylorMade, and commemorative memorabilia for the inaugural event. Tickets are available by logging onto http://www.MorgantownEventCenter.com or by clicking here. Interested sponsors should contact Jason Parsons with Remember the Miners 304-993-2524 or email info@remembertheminers.org.

Former WVU basketball player and Fish Fry coordinator Cam Payne said, “We encourage everyone to get their Fish Fry tickets while they last. This will be a great celebration. I look forward to seeing my Final Four teammates and having a great evening to support the Norma Rae Huggins Cancer Research Fund and the Remember the Miners Scholars Program.”

The Norma Rae Huggins Cancer Research Fund was created by the Huggins family to raise funds and awareness in honor of Huggins’ late mother, Norma Rae. The fund supports cancer research at WVU’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

The Remember the Miners Scholars Program is a joint venture between the West Virginia Coal Foundation and RememberTheMiners.org to provide scholarships for dependents of coal miners and/or individuals pursuing a career in the mining industry.

Jason Parsons, Director of Remember The Miners, noted Little General will be presenting this event and has been a long time partners with The Scholars Program. “We are proud to present the first annual Bob Huggins Fish Fry with generous support from Little General. We are grateful for their continued support.”
