SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO– Truck Bryant scored a career high with 22 points on 50% shooting and led the team in assists with 4, Danny Jennings led the team in rebounds with 10, the Mountaineers beat the Davidson Wildcats in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, 84-70. West Virginia took this one by dominating Davidson in three pointers and also beating them in assists.
West Virginia crushed a lot of threes, hitting a total of 21 points from beyond the arc compared to 6 by Davidson. West Virginia beat Davidson with assists, 9 to 6, and facilitated more balanced scoring.
The big story of the game was FOULS, both teams “committed” a total of 67 fouls, with Deniz Kilicli fouling out in 6 minutes!
West Virginia will face Vanderbilt on Friday at 12:30 p.m. That game will be televised nationally by ESPNU… which means most of us will probably be listening to it on WAJR.com.
