WVU Football Plans to Honor Fallen Miners

I know I said I wouldn’t delve into the fallen miners issue anymore, simply because it depresses me everytime I write about it. However, this story could not be ignored.

According to multiple news sources, the WVU football team plans to honor the fallen miners and their families throughout the season by wearing a helmet decal. It will be a round white sticker with a black number “29.” The “29” signifies the death toll that happened at the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion on April 5th.

Kudos to Coach Bill Stewart and the coaching staff for a classy gesture.
