The Mountaineers led most of the game before Louisville went on a 13 point run in the waning minutes of the game. Truck Bryant attempted a 3-point shot in the final seconds, but air balled it at the buzzer.

The West Virginia Mountaineers face the 23rd ranked Louisville Cardinals Saturday in the Coliseum. The Mountaineers have won one of their last five games and are looking to turn it around and gain some momentum to close out the last six games of the regular season. The Cardinals have won five straight.

Today, the Big 12 Expansion Committee met regarding bringing the Big 12 back to, well, 12 members.

According to the Chronicle of Higher Education (that’s a legit name for a legit publication), the Big 12 is looking at the University of Louisville, and Brigham Young University (aka Bring ‘em Young University).

Depending on who you believe, Louisville fans have this delusion (a Craig James-level delusion) that they actually turned down an invite, and that WVU was the 2nd choice. We all know how that worked out, right? Keep in mind that FOOTBALL is the main source behind conference realignment.

Recently, I reached out to Greg Swaim for an interview regarding the saga that’s WVU attempting to escape the Big East Conference for the greener pastures of the Big 12. However, there’s a big court battle because BE Commissioner John Marinatto is acting like the batsh*t-crazy, clingy ex girlfriend.

Swaim has been very accurate on WVU’s move to the Big 12, and seems to have “inside information” regarding when WVU will move to the Big 12 (spoiler alert: 2012), when the lawsuit will be settled, and which schools are next on the Big 12′s wish list.

A little bit about our guest, from his website: Greg Swaim is the director of BigTime Sports, the BigTime Tournaments and the Greg Swaim Recruiting Service, a national recruiting service subscribed to by over 600 Men’s and Women’s College Programs from all levels across the country. Swaim hosts the daily syndicated Greg Swaim Radio Show, in which he hosts many of the top names in sports and the BigTime Sports Television Show. WVU, after being ahead for most of the game, blew their lead, and at one point was down by 7. However, the team put together some 4th quarter heroics that allowed Tyler Bitancurt (*gasp!*) to nail a 28 yard field goal with :03 to go in regulation, sealing WVU’s share of the Big East title.

WVU now awaits the fate of the Connecticut-Cincinnati game. Despite Cincinnati being out of BCS contention, this is their opportunity to keep their rivals (Louisville) out of the BCS. [Keg of Nails rivalry]

The West Virginia University women’s soccer team won the Big East Championship today defeating Louisville 2-0 at Dick Dlesk Stadium. A crowd of 1,550 was in attendance, the 4th largest ever at the stadium for the Mountaineer women. This makes the second consecutive Big East Conference Championship for the team. Great job ladies.

Louisville held the ball for over seven minutes in the 4th quarter and scored on a short touchdown run to seal a 38-35 win in Morgantown. The loss drops the Mountaineers to 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in the Big East Conference with Cincinnati next, a team averaging 41 ppg.

The West Virginia University Women’s Soccer team keeps rolling on. No. 11 West Virginia defeated Georgetown 5-1 Friday evening in the semifinals of the Big East Women’s Soccer Championship at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The Mountaineers will play for their third Big East Championship on Sunday at noon against Louisville.

This Saturday, noon ET, on the Big Least Network, WVU hosts the Loserville Cardinals.

Apparently, Louisville has taken “salty” and “being bitter” about being shunned by the Big 12 (a real conference) to a whole new level… even after Mitch McConnell did some 11th hour lobbying on Loserville’s behalf. Meanwhile, the Loserville “faithful” has taken to the message boards, blogs and Twitter to smear WVU fans. It got topped by the (rumor that) University of Loserville themselves deciding not to send their cheerleaders and mascot to Morgantown for fear of their safety, however, that has since changed and they will be coming up.

While I’m not advocating “play nice” with those Tardinal morons, I would like to request that all WVU fans “keep calm and carry on.”
